Welcome to the first post of DosaidSoft.
DosaidSoft is the name that the son of the main presenter gave his one man company right after high school.
(DOS – AID – SOFT – an Aid for the DOS operating system.)
We have been around since 2010, but we have taken a hiatus from posting on our original blogger blog.
We are beginning a new chapter with this website. We will discuss everything from computer software and hardware to radio. I will post my projects here.
For the hardware and electronics projects, I plan to post detailed tutorials. I will also post my software and games. I like to program in C#, Unity, AGS (adventure game studio), and C when I am doing microcontroller projects. In terms of microcontrollers, I like to use the PIC18F series and I use MikroC to program them.
My two main interests are radio and old computers. You will see any retro games I make posted here as well as some designs for radio transmitters.

I wish I was half as talented. I am getting older (76) and I get my education updates from folks like you. I was raised in the era of tubes and the new stuff I can get lost but, I manage to comprehend maybe better than most.
I also watch Carlsons Lab (Paul) and he is a very talented person although he has gone pretty much pay to learn and I suppose that is ok as well. It does cost to present but, the folks that only get social security one may have to say thank you and just bypass. Whatever you do is ok with me.

I see your running wordpress.org. I used to have a lamp system under my desk and worked excellent. I also had lamp with content management system that also worked well. I was hosting some of my classmates webpages from the Apache.

“Carlsons Lab”. Yeah, I think I saw that video about him standing in an AM transmitter while it was running lol.
Right now I am using byethost free hosting and it’s pretty decent I think. I got wordpress running on top of that.
BTW: I got hooked about same age as you, maybe a little younger. My first cw transmitter when I was a sophomore was a 6dq6 final, 5u4 rectifer and a 6ag5 oscillator. I got caught by FCC monitoring and had a lesson to be learned.

Another FYI:
I worked telephone industry many years and there should be many 24 and 48 volt power supplies out there. They were used for electro-mechanical switching and a carrier for the audio. Therefore very low ripple. Some were as big as large refrigerators and weighed as much or more than a car. The 48 were used in central office or large PBX. The 24 were used mainly for key service equipment and or intercoms.

Working in that industry makes me wonder if you’ve ever done anything with carrier current transmissions. Apparently colleges used to use carrier current as a way to broadcast AM into the power lines as a sort of crude antenna system. I thought about trying this, but I wasn’t that stupid yet.
